Cloth > Disposable

Good morning all!

Yesterday Lauren and I officially switched to using cloth diapers for master Thanos. We (finally) ran out of regular diapers and switched over to the cloth ones. One of the things I noticed last night was that he already seems a lot more relaxed in them than he did in the regular diapers. The pee diapers appear to last longer than the disposable ones do (I.E. he can pee in them a few times before he realizes he’s wet, so he gets more use out of each diaper). He also slept for almost 8 straight hours last night while wearing one. (YUUUSSSSS).

According to Lauren, the poopy destruction that he laid this morning was easier to clean up than it is using a disposable, AND it rinsed almost completely out with little effort. This is fantastic news! The down side is that we are likely going to be washing diapers every other day, at the very least, to make sure we are prepared and don’t run out. To counter this, we have purchased Viva Paper Towels which we have been told work well with absorption and can be used as a liner (to get multiple uses out of a single disposable).

As of this posting, Thane is just over 2 months old, and is quite satisfied with his minions at this particular moment! Hopefully he won’t destroy us when he takes over the universe when he’s older.

Feeding Your Overlord

Lauren and I have had an interesting time trying to figure out our new master and his likes and dislikes. One of the things we realized VERY early on is that he was NOT a fan of most formulas. We have tried numerous brands (similac for spit-up, similac all natural, enfamil, similac plus iron, similac plus the bones of your childrens enemies, etc). what we learned through the process is that the reason why there are hundreds of different types of formula is BECAUSE your child is just as picky as you are.

We finally settled on Enfamil Reguline. Once we picked this up (because he was having trouble destroying his diapers with poop grenades) He started joyfully bombing us within 24 hours. This has been a huge relief for us.

Helpful parenting tip: try EVERYTHING. do not be afraid to experiment with the formulas for your child. they may appear to be taking one "ok", but there is one out there that is more than likely perfect for your futura villain. We found ours, do your masters work and go find theirs!
